The consulting firm IHCS will serve on the jury for this prestigious award, a prize for excellence that is one of the most important in the hotel industry. The most prestigious hotels in Central and Eastern Europe will participate in the next edition, in March 2020.

A Prestigious International Award

The International Hospitality Awards began in 2011, and over the course of nearly ten editions, they have become one of the most important international awards in the hospitality industry. After a decade, Hoteliero, the company behind the event, has committed to developing and promoting high standards for the hospitality industry in Central and Eastern Europe.

In its early years, the awards were known as the Ukrainian Hospitality Awards, but the prestige this annual recognition has gained—especially throughout Central and Eastern Europe—has expanded the scope of the award, which is now one of the most prestigious in the hospitality industry.

The purpose of the awards is to enable participants to improve through innovation, development, and cultural education in society, and to enhance the area’s appeal to tourists and improve the experience for guests and visitors.

For the final awards ceremony of the International Hospitality Awards, to be held on March 1 in Kyiv, the deadline for hotels to submit their applications is October 30 on the Hospitality Awards International website. To be eligible, a hotel must be located within Central and Eastern Europe, including countries in Western Europe.

Hotels from 24 countries participated in the 2019 edition: Georgia, Moldova, Romania, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Greece, North Macedonia, Albania, Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Slovenia, Hungary, Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Malta, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Turkey, and Azerbaijan.

Recognition of the Hospitality Industry

The mission of the International Hospitality Awards is to foster a professional and competitive hotel industry by promoting excellence in the hotel business.

As we have already announced in previous posts on this blog, as a consulting firm specializing in hotel management, IHCS will serve on the judging panel for this prestigious award for excellence in the hotel industry.

The firm’s participation on an international jury—represented by its director, Juan Pedro Lemes—brings the company’s expertise in hotel management and consulting to bear on an award that recognizes, above all, excellence in hotel accommodations.

But what is excellence, and how should it be rewarded? Factors such as optimal management, a strong digital presence, and personalized customer service and comfort are necessary conditions for achieving and being recognized for this quality rating. These are the main areas of focus for International Hotel Consulting Services, which is convinced that the best results in the hotel industry stem from innovation and the sector’s evolution, in line with new trends in traveler demand.

The awards are divided into categories covering all types of projects, ranging from the Best Luxury Hotel to the Best Honeymoon Destination, including the Best Hotel Bar and Restaurant and the Best New Opening of the Year, among many other awards.

How do you determine a hotel’s excellence?

Thus, the standard of excellence recognized by these prestigious awards is based on:

Good management

It’s a fundamental element. It’s closely tied to having the right digital presence, which enables proper management (reservations, invoices, customer contact). Nothing should go wrong.

Excellent customer service

Exquisite customer service is the hotel’s greatest asset. The staff’s attentiveness, professionalism in fulfilling requests, and friendliness are crucial. These will be among the key factors guests will remember most after their stay.

Convenience and Comfort

This is another aspect that guests value most highly: their comfort and convenience. The hotel must ensure that every room meets the necessary conditions to fulfill this requirement at all times.

Problem-Solving Skills

Respond quickly to customer requests or needs (taxis, information, service requests, speaking their language, etc.). It is essential that the customer feels comfortable.

At International Hotel Consulting Service, we are very proud to offer our expertise in all of the above to the jury of a hotel excellence award. One of the cornerstones of IHCS’s work as a consulting firm is none other than the importance of quality in service and management as a key factor in the sector’s evolution.
