Do you really know everything a guest needs when staying at a hotel? This is one of the fundamental factors that must be analyzed before starting a business. Moreover, given changing trends, these priorities must be constantly revised.
According to a study by the U.S. company Qualtrics, which analyzed data from 1,000 guests, the following conclusions have been drawn:
Guest Priorities
Room Cleanliness: This is an absolute priority for guests. The hotel—and especially the rooms—should be completely clean. To ensure this, the hotel should offer excellent housekeeping service that not only performs flawlessly but also operates discreetly and courteously.
Wi-Fi: The second priority on the list is Wi-Fi technology, to prevent guests from having to use their personal data plans while traveling. The importance of fast internet becomes particularly clear when you consider that this factor is even more important to guests than a free breakfast. Free Wi-Fi is ideal, but the results show that even a fee isn’t a problem.
Quiet Rooms: To fully enjoy your vacation, you need a quiet room. If this isn’t the case, complaints will pile up, which will ultimately damage the hotel’s reputation.
Free breakfast: Offering a free breakfast increases customer satisfaction.
Free Parking: In this list of the top 5 priorities for hotel guests, we also find the importance of being able to park one’s car for free and safely. This is particularly important in regions where it is otherwise difficult to find a parking spot for an extended period of time.
Additional findings revealed that the restaurant is considered important, followed by the parking lot, the swimming pool, and the spa. Facilities such as shops, the gym, and the bar are perceived as less interesting.
Once these criteria are known, the manager of a hotel should make any necessary changes to better meet the priorities of the guests.
