What does the MICE concept mean?

The MICE concept groups together different types of events:

Meetings

They are specific events organized by people or institutions with a specific purpose and that usually last less than one day. This type could include banquets, tributes, farewells, etc.

Incentives

Those events that companies usually organize to reward those employees who have had good behavior or have achieved extraordinary results. In most cases, these events are part of an incentive trip that includes not only the event itself, but also the trip, accommodation and food, and some complementary activities for the employee and a companion.

Congresses

They are events, usually periodic, organized by institutions, professional organizations or other types of associations, with the objective of debating or advancing knowledge of some specific topics. It is also known as conference tourism.

Exhibitions

They are presentations, usually temporary, in which a wide range of products or services are made known to the public for a commercial purpose. Fairs are exhibitions of a certain size and can be aimed at the general public, professionals or both.

The international events market is in full expansion, occupying a privileged position in terms of the number of events organized and the volume of attendees.

Organization and management of events in hotels

Although the comprehensive organization of an event is a very complex process that is made up of a series of stages, hotels normally only actively participate in the phase in which the event itself takes place.
Holding an event in a hotel will depend on multiple factors and actions, therefore the key points on which the sale of an event by the hotel is based are:

The type of event to be covered

It is necessary for the client to define its nature, indicating, as approximately as possible, what their needs for spaces and services will be.
